Drug syndicate member nabbed

A SUSPECTED member of a drug syndicate was arrested in an anti-drug operation in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police said Friday, August 7.

Police Brigadier General Jesus Cambay Jr., Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested person as Ramil Duhig Baya, 32, a fisherman.

Cambay said Baya was nabbed by operatives of the Regional Drugs Enforcement Unit-9 in an anti-drug operation around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, in Purok Gumamela in Tenan village, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Recovered from Baya were P20,000 worth of shabu and P500 marked money.

The suspect was detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against him. (SunStar Zamboanga)
