FBN Asia inks agreement with Premier Family Business

TO PROMOTE sustainable family businesses despite the pandemic in the Philippines, Family Business Network (FBN) Asia has signed an agreement with Premier Family Business Consulting Inc. (PFBC) on Friday, Aug. 7.

The agreement formalized both parties’ cooperative partnership to mutually promote the advocacy for resilient family businesses in the light of the global pandemic.

FBN Asia is a regional chapter of FBN International, a private non-organization representing family businesses in 65 countries across five continents.

FBN Asia offers opportunities for stakeholders of the family business to learn, communicate and share within the safe haven of its family business community.

Dato Loy Teik Ngan, president of FBN Asia, in a Zoom meeting said family businesses with strong partnerships last for many generations.

Through the partnership, FBN Asia will establish a Philippine country committee, comprising family business members of FBN Asia from the Philippines. The alliance will also allow PFBC to support FBN Asia’s branding and recruitment of members in the Philippines from its own network of families in business.

Both parties will also conduct events in the Philippines to share the knowledge, resources and network of FBN Asia to bonafide members in the country.

The partnership also intends to reach out to families in business in the Philippines to become part of the global knowledge and resource sharing network.

Jon Ramos, founder and chief executive officer of PFBC, said family businesses need to pivot under the new normal for the long haul.

He said it has been a difficult challenge but if the family business will adapt to become more agile and resilient, naturally driven and adaptable to change, the business would weather this global health crisis which has rattled economies around the globe.

“There needs to be faith, courage and partnership,” Ramos said.

Vanessa Yung, executive director of FBN Asia, said the partnership will usher the coming together of the younger generation of family business leaders as a force of good. (JOB with PR)
