Sasmuan Covid cases reach 26

SASMUAN -- Total number of coronavirus cases here has now reached 26 as four new cases have been recorded Sunday, August 9, according to a report of the Rural Health Unit (RHU) here.

The four new cases came from San Antonio (1), San Nicolas 1st (one), San Pedro (one) and Santa Monica (one).

Of the 26 recorded cases, 17 have already recovered. The RHU had also recorded one new death from Barangay San Antonio on August 9, bringing the total death toll here to three cases.

Since the start of the pandemic, seven of the 12 barangays of the town have recorded confirmed coronavirus cases. Cases have been reported in San Antonio (eight), San Nicolas 1st (two), San Nicolas 2nd (two), Santa Lucia (one), Santa Monica (10) and Santo Tomas (one).

Some 99 people are also under monitoring by the RHU for possible coronavirus infection.
