Magalang town lists 15 Covid-19 cases

MAGALANG town has recorded 15 cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as of August 10.

The town's 14th patient or Patient M14 is a 24-year-old male from Santa Lucia Resettlement Center but working in Metro Manila. She arrived in Magalang on July 3, 2020.

The patient's rapid test was negative but he decided to undergo RT-PCR test and it turned out that he is positive for coronavirus.

Patient M14 was required to undergo self quarantine by the local government, as it is stipulated in the guidelines for transient workers coming from the National Capital Region.

Based on the contact tracing conducted by the Municipal Government, Patient M14 had two close contacts who are members of his family.

Patient M15, who is also a dialysis patient, is a 56-year-old male residing at the San Isidro Resettlement.

The patient was rushed to the Don Andres Luciano District Hospital in Magalang on August 1 after experiencing flu-like symptoms.

The local government later transferred M15 to the Tarlac Provincial Hospital and his swab test result was released on August 9, 2020.

The Municipal Government discovered that M15 had 15 close contacts who are all members of his family.

The two patients are now confined in a government quarantine facility.

Mayor Romy Pecson said the local government provides assistance to the family of the two patients in terms of food and other necessities.
