CASES of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) continue to climb in Eastern Visayas with 55 additional cases reported on Tuesday, August 11, 2020.
The Department of Health-Eastern Visayas said the total number of Covid-19 cases in the region has already reached 1,363, with 890 recoveries or 65.30 percent recovery rate and 469 total active cases.
Eastern Visayas Regional Covid-19 Testing (EVRCTC) released a total of 266 laboratory results, of which 248 are negative and 18 are positive for Covid-19.
The 18 new cases recorded by the EVRCTC and tagged as patients EV-1309 to EV-1326 include returning locally stranded individuals (LSIs).
In Samar, the new cases are in Sta Rita (2); Paranas (1), LSI from Marikina; and Villareal (5).
In Southern Leyte, positive cases were recorded in Padre Burgos (1), LSI from Mandaluyong; Hinunangan (1), LSI from Pasay; St. Bernard (1), LSI from Cebu; and Limasawa (1).
In Leyte, Alang-alang reported two cases; Julita with three, all LSIs from Quezon City and Pasay; and Hilongos with one case, an LSI from Manila.
The 37 other positive cases were reported by the Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory, which released on Tuesday, August 11, a total of 259 laboratory results.
Of these results, 203 are negative and 56 are positive for the virus.
The positive results include the 37 new cases, 17 re-swabs and two laboratory results from outside Eastern Visayas.
The 37 new cases have been tagged as patients EV-1327 to EV-1363. These include patients from Inopacan (1), Burauen (2), Hindang (4), Calubian (3), Carigara (2), Barugo (1), Jaro (2), Villaba (2), Capoocan (2), Abuyog (5), Palo (1), Tacloban City (2), Leyte (1), Hilongos (1), and Bato (5) in Leyte; Jiabong, Samar (1); Balangiga, Eastern Samar (1); and Oras, Eastern Samar (1).
Amid the rising number of coronavirus infections, the regional health department reminded the public to be part of the solution by practicing the “Bida Solusyon” against the virus.
Bida Solusyon means “Bawal walang mask, Isanitize ang kamay at Iwas-hawak sa mga bagay, Dumistansya ng isang metro, at Alamin ang totoong impormasyon.” (SunStar Philippines)
