Drug group member arrested in Bacolod

AN ALLEGED member of the Poja Drug Group was arrested in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 2 at Villa Felicidad, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City Monday evening.

Police identified the suspect as Kris Poja, 31, a resident of Purok Sibucao, Barangay Banago and a step-sister of the late Ramy Poja, the leader of the drug group.

Police Major Sherlock Gabana, chief of Police Station 2, said yesterday Poja was arrested after she sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at about 7:45 p.m. while her live-in partner Ronie Gador, 29, managed to escape after he grappled with the police poseur buyer and jumped out of the concrete wall.

Police recovered from Poja’s possession seven sachets of shabu weighing nine grams with estimated market value P61, 200, drug paraphernalia, two cellular phones, and two units of Holen gun, one M3 9mm grease gun with two M3 magazines, a 9mm with three magazines, 60 pieces live ammunition, a tear gas, and brass knuckle owned by Gador.

He said Poja and Gador were identified as high value targets in Bacolod City and both of them were under surveillance for almost a month in their rented house at Barangay Estefania.

He added that Poja is detained at station’s custodial facility and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs of 2002, and separate charges will also be filed against Gador for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
