THE Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, clarified that local government units (LGUs) are in charge of contact tracing.
DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire issued the clarification after netizens criticized the DOH over its statement on August 10 that it does not have contact tracing teams.
DOH advises the public to be vigilant for those who introduce themselves as part of the "DOH contact tracing team".
