AS THE payout for the second tranche of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) is ongoing, the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Central Visayas (DSWD) 7 has reminded SAP beneficiaries not to share their personal details including their one-time pin (OTP) with anyone.
Leah Quintana, DSWD 7 information officer, cautioned the beneficiaries during an online SAP briefing on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020.
“Pahimangno lang usab kay naay mga reports ta nga nadawat. Magbantay ug dili magpadala sa mga tawo o grupo nga mapahimuslanon ug mangingilad nga magpahibalo o magpadala og mensahe sa inyong pagkuha sa ayuda,” she said.
“Ayaw ug ihatag ang imong personal nga detalye, OTP, ug kwarta sa bisan kinsa nga dili awtorisado sa DSWD ug mga FSP (financial service providers) partners,” she added.
Quintana said, as of Wednesday morning, a total of 25, 971 non-Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) SAP beneficiaries in Cebu have already claimed their P6,000 cash aid under the second tranche. This is equivalent to a total of P155,826,000.
The agency has also given SAP aid to around 1,626 drivers amounting to P9,756,000 in total. As of Wednesday morning, the DSWD 7 has also provided a total of 245,943 family food packs as augmentation support for 96 local government units (LGUs) in the region. This is worth P1,458,075,905.20.
The payout for the wait-listed or those eligible low-income families who were not included and provided with emergency subsidy aid in the first tranche of the SAP also continues. The DSWD 7 said it has already paid a total of 34, 408 families, equivalent to P206,448,000.
Quintana said beneficiaries from the Municipalities of Argao, Dumanjug, Moalboal, Asturias, Balamban, Cordova, Dalaguete, and Toledo City will have to wait for the go-signal from their respective LGUs and barangay government for the date and venue of the payout to avoid mass gatherings in time of a pandemic. Starpay is the chosen FSP for these areas.
Moreover, she said those second tranche beneficiaries in Cebu City who were not able to register with FSP PayMaya due to unavailability of a smartphone or had encountered problems with the required details, the DSWD 7 said they, through the LGU, will be the one to inform when and how the beneficiaries can avail of their cash aid.
Only qualified low-income households in Cebu will benefit from the SAP’s second tranche as it is the only province in the region to remain under enhanced community quarantine as of May 1.
Republic Act 11469, or the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, which instituted the SAP aims to mitigate the effects of the crisis brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic./WBS
