A RESIDENT doctor of private hospital in Macabebe town passed away a day after he tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

In the local government's latest bulletin, a 53-year-old doctor of Our Lady of Rosary Hospital (OLRH) died on August 8 before his test results for Covid-19 were released the following day.

In the statement released by OLRH, all of the hospital staff who had close interaction with the late doctor are already undergoing 14-day self-quarantine.

The hospital management said all identified close contacts of the doctor remain asymptomatic as of Monday, August 10.

Meanwhile, the local government and hospital management are calling on patients or individuals who visited or had a check-up in the hospital on July 31 to August 1 to undergo self-quarantine and isolation.

If experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, the local government advised them to immediately report to their respective barangay health workers for proper medical intervention.

The doctor's case, meanwhile, was not included in the latest tally of Covid-19 cases of the local government.
