CEBUANO midfielder Jordan Jarvis is the latest acquisition of the United City Football Club (UCFC) for the upcoming Philippines Football League (PFL) season and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup group stage.

“I am pleased to announce that I have signed with a brilliant club, newly established and previously known as Ceres Negros, United City Football Club,” Jarvis announced on Facebook. “I am very grateful and thankful for the opportunity given to me. Thank you to the management and coaches of United City FC in trusting me. I can’t wait to get back on the field and prove myself.”

The 22-year-old Jarvis, whose mother is Cebuana and father is British, is the newest addition to an already stacked UCFC, formerly known as Ceres Negros FC.

Jarvis, who started his football career in Hong Kong, already has a total of 13 caps for the Azkals’ Under-19, Under-22 and Under-23 squads.

He started his pro career at 18 years old with the Davao Aguilas FC in 2017, before moving to his hometown of Cebu the following year to play for Global Cebu FC. In 2019, he went back to Hong Kong to play for the Eastern Sports Club and Resources Capital Football Club.

Another recent signing along with Jarvis is UAAP MVP Pocholo Bugas, who signed his first professional football contract.

UCFC, which was recently acquired by MMC Sportz Asia, went on a buying spree signing a mix of veterans and young talent.

The club inked the services of Stephan Shröck, Spanish forward Bienvenido Marañon, Senegalese striker Robert Mendy, Japanese midfielder Takashi Odowara, Fil-Japanese midfielder Hikaru Minegishi, Sean Kane, OJ Porteria, Tristan Robles, Dennis Villanueva, Arnie Pasinabo, Joshua Dutosme, Florencio Badelic, Ronilo Bayan, Cebuano Angelo Marasigan, and brothers Mike and Manny Ott.
