Angeles City's Covid-19 cases climb to 128

THE number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Angeles City, Pampanga has climbed up to 128 as of August 12, despite stringent measures by the local government to prevent the spread of the virus.

The City Government reported 11 new cases, making 68 the total number active cases.

A patient recently died, bringing the number of Covid-19 deaths to eight.

Of the 128 cases, 65 were transmitted in Angeles City and only three were acquired outside the city.

The local government unit said 52 patients had recovered from Covid-19.

Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. earlier warned that the City Government will strictly enforce quarantine rules due to the increasing number of cases in the locality.

The city's law enforcement group has arrested more than 200 individuals for not wearing face mask and violating curfew.

The mayor also ordered the local police to restrict persons from other places visiting the city without authority.

Lazatin urged his constituents to support the local government's fight against Covid-19, which is now affecting the city.
