THE Health and Sanitation Division of the Clark Development Corporation (HSD-CDC) has started conducting misting disinfection in various areas in the Freeport as part of its efforts against mosquito-related diseases.

Apart from its continuous activities against Covid-19, CDC-HSD has also initiated programs that will ensure the safety of the public from mosquito-borne ailments like dengue, following the onset of the rainy season.

Under its annual program against dengue, various places in the Freeport, including spans of the Main Gate, Friendship Gate, Mabalacat Gate, Sapangbato Gate, and Don Juico Gate, were all disinfected.

The same procedure was done at Chapel 1 of Air Force City and Fire Safety Sub-station at Lily Hill.

Meanwhile, HSD, together with the Building Facilities and Management Division (BFMD), also led fumigation measures at CDC offices and facilities.

Clean-up drives for outside workplaces and immediate vicinities are also being conducted every Thursday and Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

According to HSD, the activity aims to help in destroying pest and breeding places of mosquitoes. Other undertakings that were organized as part of its prevention program are awareness and medication lectures on mosquito-borne diseases, early consultation, and proper use of personal protective measures.

Breeding grounds, such as stagnant water from flower vases, tires and similar breeding areas, were also removed or disinfected to prevent mosquitoes from multiplying. (PR)
