Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental report zero new Covid-19 cases

CAGAYAN de Oro City and Misamis Oriental have recorded zero new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases and some newly recovered Covid-positive patients, as of Wednesday, August 12, 2020.

Two patients have recovered from Covid-19 in Cagayan de Oro City, as the number of active cases decreased from 66 to 64, Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery reported on Thursday, August 13.

Of the 64 active cases, four are outpatients and 60 are returning overseas Filipino workers (ROFs)/locally stranded individuals (LSIs).

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro stands at 192. The death toll is eight and the number of recoveries are now at 120.

City Health Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said the recovered Covid-positive cases are a 29-year-old male Authorized Person Outside Residence (Apor) resident of Barangay Iponan; and a 31-year-old male LSI from Mactan, Cebu and a resident of Barangay Patag.

Both of their repeat swab results came out negative on August 12.

Four non-residents in Cagayan de Oro were also tagged as "recovered" after their repeat swab test results were negative, two of whom are from Misamis Oriental, one from Davao de Oro and one from Lanao del Sur.

The two recovered patients from Misamis Oriental are a 54-year-old female LSI and a 62-year-old female LSI. The others are a 39-year-old LSI and a resident of Davao de Oro and a 25-year-old male ROF and a resident of Lanao del Sur.

Meanwhile, Misamis Oriental logged zero Covid-19 cases for the past two days (August 11 and 12) with three recovered Covid-positive patients.
