#tell_it_to_sunstar: Agricultural workers: PNP should just shut up on Echanis slay

By Unyon ng mga Manggagawa sa Agrikultura

The Unyon ng mga Manggagawa sa Agrikultura (UMA) today stated that the Philippine National Police (PNP) should just shut up on the assassination of Randall (Ka Randy) Echanis and on the killing of Louie Tagapia.

At the same time, it supports the call of other sectors in calling for an independent probe of the incident to be led by the Commission on Human Rights (CHR).

According to Antonio “Ka Tonying” Flores, chairperson of UMA, the PNP is now saying that there was no forcible entry in the said case of the two who were killed and that they knew who their killers were.

In effect the PNP is whitewashing the case as friends of the relatives of Ka Randy who went to the crime scene to take his things found evidence to the contrary. Two barangay officials even accompanied them to said place.

The PNP has time and again also tried to muddle the case by at first insisting that it was not Ka Randy who was killed, even going to the extent of illegally and immorally snatching his body from his family and loved ones.

The PNP also tried to stop a mass for Randy in a morgue where he was illegally taken. There are those even close to the Duterte administration spinning tales that the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) peace consultant was killed by his colleagues.

Ka Tonying also added that the PNP should drop all charges against Anakpawis’ paralegal officer Paolo Corables for so-called obstruction of justice as he and Randall’s family were correct all along that the body that they claimed in Pink Petal Funeral Homes was indeed that of Ka Randy.

Since the PNP is muddling and whitewashing the case, we support our calls that the CHR should be the one to lead in handling the twin murder case, Ka Tonying concluded.
