MAJORITY of the 2,370 individuals who availed themselves of the free drive-through and walk-through swab tests for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) Sub-national Laboratory from July 27 to Aug. 12, 2020 were VSMMC employees.

Based on the data VSMMC sent to SunStar Cebu, 1,320 of the tested individuals were VSMMC personnel. They comprised 55.69 percent of the individuals who took the tests.

Of the remaining 1,050 individuals, 594 non-VSMMC employees took the free drive-through testing while 456 took the swab test via the walk-through option.

The drive-through and walk-through swab testing are still ongoing. It is a project of the VSMMC Sub-national Laboratory, the first and largest Covid-19 testing laboratory in Central Visayas.

The appointment for walk-in or drive-through swab testing is set through https://bit.ly/walkthrutesting.

Registrants are assigned an appointment date and time for their swab collection.

The link is inaccessible sometimes due to the bulk of registrations. One can retry or contact VSMMC through its official Facebook page.

The test result is expected to be released via email within four days from the swab collection. The local government units will also receive copies of the results through the DOH-Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit for contact tracing. / WBS
