MABALACAT CITY -- A 48-year-old man was gunned down by two unidentified men onboard a motorcycle on Friday, August 14.
Mabalacat City Acting Police Chief Eduardo Guevarra Jr. identified the victim as Facisto Del Rosario, a welder from Barangay Sapang Biabas here.
The incident happened around 10 a.m. along MacArthur Highway, corner Camachiles Arc in Barangay Camachiles.
Based on their initial investigation, Guevarra said the victim and his wife, Liberty Del Rosario, were traversing the highway onboard a tricycle when two unidentified men opened fire, hitting the victim's left cheek.
A bystander identified as Charlie Sereno, 36, was also hit on his right arm.
After the shooting, the gunmen fled onboard a getaway motorcycle toward Barangay Sapang Biabas.
The victims were brought to the nearest hospital, but Del Rosario died.
Investigation is ongoing, said Guevarra.
