A PRAYER accompanied by tears
Shall sound like a thunder
To the ears of the Lord.
Hear the pleadings of Your people, oh Lord,
As they cry to You from the depths of their humanity.
Their tears have flooded the rivers of history,
Their sufferings written in blood on its every page.
Do not abandon them like discarded toys of your creation,
Running wantonly on their own volition,
And wallowing in the quagmire of their selfish freedoms,
As they struggle for survival in the course of evolution
In the midst of the current vicious covid-19 pandemic.
Do not consider what they deserve, oh Lord,
For their sins have forfeited Your mercy.
But You created them in Your Image and Likeness
And destined them to be similar to You.
This is Your contract with Your people, oh Lord,
And this is our prayer as we appeal to You for help.
Amen.
