3 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Cagayan de Oro; all LSIs

THREE locally stranded individuals (LSIs) have tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, bringing the total number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro City to 197.

City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said all of the three new Covid-19 cases are currently staying at the city's Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 195th case is a 33-year-old female LSI from Cebu and a resident of Barangay Kauswagan. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on August 8.

The patient was swabbed on August 13 and the result came out positive on August 14. She is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 196th case is a 36-year-old female LSI from Cebu and a resident of Barangay Lapasan. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro together with her son via sea travel on August 8.

She was swabbed on August 13 and the result came out positive on August 14. She is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The City Health Office identified two close contacts of the patient. One of them is her son who tested positive for the virus. The swab test result of her other close contact was negative.

The 197th case is a 14-year-old male son of the 196th case. He's an LSI from Barangay 1, Cebu and a resident of Barangay Lapasan.

The young man arrived in Cagayan de Oro on August 8 together with his mother. He was swabbed on August 13 and the result came out positive on August 14.

The City Health Office has also recorded two Covid-positive patients who are now tagged as recovered after their repeat swab test result came out negative on August 14.

Recovered patients are a 30-year-old male LSI from Cubao and a resident of Barangay Camaman-an and a 35-year-old female returning overseas Filipino worker (ROF) and a resident of Barangay Carmen.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said that at present, Cagayan de Oro has 64 active cases, four of which are outpatients and 60 are ROFs/LSIs.
