Si Maquiling ug Kim puros nakabuhat og maayong record sa ilang high school career alang sa Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) sa Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi).
Si Maquiling, kinsa mao ang pambato sa SHS-AdC boys’ team, naka commit na sa Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), diin moduwa siya isip usa ka rookie sa men’s football team sa UAAP.
Usa kini ka oportunidad alang sa 19-anyos nga si Maquiling kay ikabagat niya ang mga lig-on nga players nga gikan sa University of the Philippines (UP), University of Sto. Tomas, De La Salle, University of the East, National University, Adamson ug Farn Eastern University sa umaabot nga Season 83.
Dugay nang gusto kuhaon sa AdMU ang star player sa Sugbo sa dihang gaduwa pa kini isip varsity player sa SHS-AdC tungod sa abilidad niini nga moduwa og managlahi nga position.
Si Maquiling aduna puy experience sa international football youth competition.
“Leo was already in the eyes of the ADMU coaches since his grade school days. He was scouted in the Palarong Pambansa tournaments both in grade school and high school, as well as his stint in the national youth team. As expected, Leo will be play a big role in orchestrating the attacking system of the team. His experience and talent will definitely help defend its crown for the upcoming Season 83,” matod ni AdMU football program head Bob Manlulo.
Sa laing bahin, si Kim gikuha sa women’s team sa UP Fighting Maroons. Ang 19-anyos nga si Kim ma-reunite sa iyang kanhi SHS-AdC teammates nga si Itsuko Bacatan, Regine Chua ug Sydney Gonzales.
“I will give my best and use the set of skills I have to contribute to the success of the team. I will take this opportunity to grow for the team and enhance my skills for the team. I’ll make sure that I won’t fall behind and not trouble my coaches and teammates. I’ll also be there if anyone needs my help in anything and treat the team as my family,” matod ni Kim.
Si Kim mapasalamaton sa iyang experience sa SHS-AdC kay mao kini ang gahulma kaniya isip usa ka disiplinado nga player dili lang sa sulod sa football field apan lakip na sa kinabuhi. (RSC)
