19 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Cagayan de Oro

CAGAYAN de Oro has recorded 19 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases involving 10 locally stranded individuals (LSIs), eight returning overseas Filipino workers (ROFs) and a local Authorized Person Outside Residence (Apor), City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported Wednesday, August 19, 2020.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 229.

All of them are currently staying at the city isolation units and Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 211th case is a 58-year-old female local Apor who has two addresses, in Barangays Balulang and Gusa.

Retuya said the woman traveled to Manila in March and came back to Cagayan de Oro in June. She completed her home quarantine before she started working as support staff in the city isolation unit on July 1.

On July 9, she was swabbed as a requisite by the office and on July 11 the result came out negative.

She was swabbed again on August 17 as she was supposed to be deployed to the city hall and on August 18, her swab test result came out positive.

The woman is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified eight household contacts of the woman and two workplace contacts, all of them are in the city isolation unit and are set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 212th case is a 22-year-old male LSI from Cebu City and a resident of Barangay Nazareth. The man worked as a seafarer.

He arrived in Cebu port in June 2020 and stayed in a boarding house in Cebu City. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on August 12. He was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18.

The man is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. The City Health Office identified one close contact who is in the isolation facility in a municipality in Misamis Oriental.

The 213th case is a 30-year-old male ROF and a resident of Barangay Carmen. He worked as a seafarer.

The man was swabbed in Korea on July 30. He arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport via plane on August 4, where he was swabbed and tested negative.

He stayed in a hotel in Ortigas from August 4 to 11. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on August 12. He was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18.

The 30-year-old man experienced colds two days after he arrived in Cagayan de Oro, Retuya said. He has no comorbidity.

The City Health Office identified one close contact of the man.

The 214th case is a 54-year-old male LSI from Dumaguete and a resident of Barangay Bugo. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on August 12 via sea travel.

He was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18. The man is asymptomatic and has diabetes.

The 215th case is a 35-year-old male ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Carmen. He worked as a seafarer.

The man arrived in Manila on August 2 where he was swabbed and the result was negative. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on August 11.

He was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18. He is asymptomatic and is also hypertensive and diabetic.

The 216th case is a 45-year-old male LSI from Cebu and a resident of Barangay Indahag. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on August 11.

The man was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 217th case is a 37-year-old male ROF from Europe and a resident of Barangay Kauswagan. He worked as a seafarer.

The man arrived at NAIA on August 5 where he was swabbed and tested negative. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on August 11 via plane.

He was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18. He is asymptomatic, however, there were reports that he has mitral valve prolapse and allergic rhinitis, Retuya said.

The 218th case is a 41-year-old male LSI from Ormoc and a resident of Barangay Lumbia. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on August 4.

The man was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18. He is a known hypertensive.

The 219th case is a 33-year-old male ROF and a resident of Barangay Balulang. He arrived at NAIA on August 5 where he was swabbed and tested negative.

The man arrived in Cagayan de Oro on August 11 via plane. He was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18.

He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 220th case is a 30-year-old male LSI from Cebu and a resident of Barangay Cugman. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on August 11.

The man was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 221st case is a 21-year-old male LSI from Cebu and a resident of Barangay Tablon. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on August 11.

The man was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 222nd case is a 37-year-old female ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Tablon. She arrived in NAIA on August 6 where she was swabbed and tested negative.

Retuya said she stayed in a hotel in Makati from August 6 to 11. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane. She was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18.

She is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 223rd case is a 39-year-old male ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Pagatpat. He arrived at NAIA on August 6 where he was swabbed and tested negative.

The man stayed in a hotel in Makati from August 6 to 11. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on August 11 via plane. He was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18.

He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 224th case is a 27-year-old male LSI from Cebu and a resident of Barangay Bulua. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on August 11 via sea travel.

The man was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 225th case is a 39-year-old male LSI from Cebu and a resident of Barangay Iponan. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on August 11.

The man was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 226th case is a 36-year-old male ROF and a resident of Barangay Bugo. He worked as a seafarer.

The man arrived in Manila via sea travel on July 16. He was swabbed on August 7 in Manila and the result came out negative.

He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on August 11 via plane. He was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 227th case is a 26-year-old female LSI from Agusan and a resident of Barangay Carmen. She arrived in Manila on July 16. She was swabbed on August 7 and the result was negative.

The woman traveled on land via bus arrived in Cagayan de Oro on August 11. She was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18. She is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 228th case is a 40-year-old male ROF from the United States and a resident of Barangay Iponan. He arrived in Cebu Mactan International Airport on August 9.

Retuya said the man stayed in a hotel in Mactan, Cebu for three days. He was swabbed in Cebu and the result came out negative on August 11.

He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on August 12. He was swabbed on August 17 and the result came out positive on August 18. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 229th case is an 18-year-old female student LSI from Cebu City and a resident of Barangay Carmen. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro on August 13 via sea travel.

She was swabbed on August 18 in Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) and the result came out positive on the evening of August 18. She is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

At present, Cagayan de Oro has 82 active cases, one of whom is admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center, six are outpatients and 75 are ROFs/LSIs.
