THE Global Save Life Foundation, a Pinoy group based in Vienna, Austria with some Cordillerans as its members, continues to conduct fundraising drives for the needy community in their home country who are most affected by the pandemic.

From Baguio, Benguet, and Ilocos Sur, GSLF headed by Elmer Blanco also conducted an outreach project in Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija wherein at least 100 families benefited from the relief goods they financed and distributed by their partner organization and volunteers in the country.

The group's secretary Marjorie Guidangen-Akistoy who traces her roots in Benguet and works in Vienna as a nurse said the project was successfully implemented with the help also of Overseas Filipino Workers and Pinoys abroad who supported their fundraising activities.

Financial assistance of more than P15,000 was also provided to a patient in San Mateo, Rizal for his hospital bills and medicine for his wife.

Another patient undergoing dialysis also received financial help from the group and face masks and vitamins were distributed to chosen beneficiaries in Cavite and other parts of Luzon.

Recently, the group conducted a bag for a cause wherein the proceeds will go to the children with leukemia in the country.

A request of a breadwinner from Ilocos Sur who lost her job during the community quarantine was also granted by sending her the money she needs purposely for the medicine of her mother who had a stroke.

Guidangen-Akistoy said upcoming projects of their group include helping a mother in Baguio City and OFWs in Dubai.

"We have requests lined up such as the OFW's in Dubai waiting for their repatriation to go home because they have lost their jobs there and in need of foods; a mother in Baguio who has a child with a colostomy bag and asking for help, an orphanage in the Visayas region who also needs help, and the children suffering Leukemia and need milk," Guidangen-Akistoy said.

With GSLF helping, the hope for a better living situation for the intended beneficiaries will be assured.
