Negrenses stranded in Manila to arrive August 22

STRANDED Negrenses from Manila are expected to arrive Saturday, August 22, 2020, as the moratorium imposed by the National Inter-Agency Task Force has ended Friday.

Jansen Benjamin, Coast Guard commander for Negros Occidental, said they were informed by their national office that some Negrenses will arrive in Bacolod City at 8:40 a.m. onboard 2GO's MV St. Therese of the Child Jesus.

However, he cannot confirm if they are locally stranded individuals (LSI) or authorized persons outside residents (Apor).

The ship will also carry 56 passengers from Iloilo, he added.

Benjamin said that all incoming passengers, including essential workers from the Dumangas Port, are required to have negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results.

They will be swabbed and brought to the quarantine facilities of their respective local government units.
