GARDENING or growing plants is actually a good way to help boost one’s mood, concentration and creativity while reducing stress. Because of this, “plantitos” or “plantitas” in Cebu are turning their places into their personal zen spaces.

Because plants add so much life into your space, why not give them a better place to live in? Ahead are local shops where you can get some aesthetically pleasing pots.

Deja Fleurs

Deja Fleurs, owned by Scarlet Fayee Dumaboc and Al Kevin Ceniza, offers hand-painted clay pots that will spark joy with its modern line art and abstract-designed pots with warm and earthy tones.

The local brand also makes sure to make designs for thalassophiles (a Greek word for a lover of the sea) to help treat “seapanx” (sea separation anxiety) with its sea and mermaid-designed pots.

But if you’re into prints, Deja Fleurs has you covered as it recently launched its new design called “Calligrapots,” a brush calligraphy design on clay pots with your favorite quotes or even something as simple as your name. Deja Fleurs accepts personalized designs, too. Just send a photo for inspiration or give instructions through a direct message on its Instagram account @deja_fleurs.

Sunday Candy Collective

Cheers to Sunday Candy Collective for celebrating women through its breast-shaped pots with several designs to choose from, sculpted by fashion designer Eva Aguspina and painted by artist Hannah Sol.

Inspired by a boob pot on Pinterest, the women behind Sunday Candy Collective make their own versions with quirky designs such as animal prints, leaf prints, tropical prints and all-gold painted. The all-gold painted boobs pot, its first design launched, sold out in just a few days.

A Nini Pots

From simple and plain to exquisitely hand-painted terracotta and fiber pots, @aninipotsph takes pots to a whole new level—your favorite visual or piece of art on a pot.

Fashion designer Ixa Escario poured her creative juices on her pots during the quarantine period: “I love dressing people up. It’s what I do for a living. I love dressing myself up, dressing my friends up and now, I’m somehow finding myself dressing up my plants, too. I adore plain pots, but I think too much of it could look a little too monotonous. Why not give our plants a little personality, right?” she shared.

One of her latest designs is an illustration of a woman wearing a plant as an outfit: a green grass designed top which mimics leaves and brown skirt that represents a pot.

If you’re into illustrations and portrait design on your plant’s new home, go send @aninipotsph a message.

If you’re into cartoon characters such as Hello Kitty or you prefer your beloved furry best friend’s to be starring on your pot, @forpotsake.cebu can personalize it for you. Apart from the usual round clay pot, it also has wooden square planters perfect for your succulents collection.
