Barmm extends relief to Maguindanao orphans

FIFTY “yateem” or orphans have benefited from the relief operation conducted by the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm) in Maguindanao.

The beneficiaries of the relief operation Monday, August 24, 2020, led by Barmm Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, are the orphans of the Darul Aytam Orphanage in Gang village, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.

Each of the orphans received food packs containing 12.5 kilos of rice, 20 canned goods, hygiene kits such as soap, alcohol, hand sanitizer, face mask and vitamins, among others.

“It is the responsibility of the Bangsamoro Government to help those people like you who do not have parents to have you taken cared of,” Ebrahim said.

“This is just the beginning, the Bangsamoro Government still has more programs for you,” he told the orphans.

The relief operation was spearheaded by the Barmm’s Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG), through its Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence.

Lawyer Naguib Sinarimbo, Barmm-MILG minister, President of Darul Aytam Sheikh Hassan Maluon, and some members of the Philippine Marines and the Philippine National Police Regional Office-Barmm were also present on Monday’s activity. (SunStar Zamboanga)
