6 nabbed in anti-drug operations

SIX drug personalities were arrested while some P9,300 worth of illegal drugs seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, a police official disclosed.

Senior Inspector Shellamie Chang, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer, identified the arrested drug personalities as the following: Elerick Sotto; Ricardo Morales; Romel Villegas; Rey Bandejas; Jamester Francisco; and, Brian Manibog.

Chang said Sotto was arrested in a drug bust around 4 p.m., Saturday, at Sarangani Drive in the village of San Jose Gusu.

Chang said Sotto was caught in possession of some P3, 000 worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” packed in six plastic sachets and P200 marked money consisting of two P100 bills.

She said that Morales and Villegas yielded some P2,400 worth of shabu from the suspects packed in three plastic sachets and P200 marked money when arrested around 4 p.m., Saturday, January 5, at Zone 2 in the village of Maasin.

She said Bandejas was caught in possession with some P1, 300 worth of suspected shabu packed in seven plastic sachets and P200 marked money when arrested in a drug bust around 7:20 p.m., Saturday, at Sitio Triplet in the village of Canelar.

She said confiscated from Francisco were some P1,400 worth of suspected shabu packed in four sachets and P300 marked money. Francisco was arrested around 7:45 p.m., Saturday, in the village of Divisoria,

She said Manibog yielded some P1,200 worth of suspected shabu packed in two plastic sachets and P200 marked money when he was arrested around 9:30 p.m., Saturday, at 5th Street, Southcom Village Subdivision in the village of Upper Calarian. (SunStar Philippines)
