5 more Covid-19 patients in Cagayan de Oro recover

FIVE persons who had tested positive for coronavirus have recovered from Covid-19 after their repeat swab test results came out negative on Tuesday, August 25.

This brought the total number of Covid-19 recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 166.

According to City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselita Retuya, among those who have recovered are: a 39-year-old female locally stranded individual (LSI) from Mandaue, Cebu and a resident of Barangay Agusan; a 34-year-old female LSI from Sta. Mesa, Manila and a resident of Barangay Kauswagan; a 31-year-old female ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Mambuaya; a 65-year-old female ROF from the New York and a resident of Barangay Kauswagan; and a 37-year-old female LSI.

Meanwhile, Mayor Oscar Moreno encouraged the public to make use of the telekonsulta services offered by the City Health Office, JR Borja General Hospital and Northern Mindanao Medical Center, especially for those who have health problems.

The telekonsulta service is one of the city health and the hospital's measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Moreno called on the private hospitals to offer teleconsultation to make it easier to provide medical attention to those in need.

The mayor also urged the community to rally behind the frontliners' fight against the pandemic, saying that just like everybody else, they too are not immune to the virus.

"The community must support our health workers, they are our frontliners. The community must encourage our health workers," Moreno said.
