Cagayan de Oro logs 7 more Covid-19 cases

THREE locally stranded individuals (LSIs), two returning overseas Filipino workers (ROFs), one local Authorized Person Outside Residence (Apor), and a local case have tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total confirmed Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro to 262.

City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said all new LSIs and ROFs cases were immediately brought to the city isolation upon arrival in the city.

The 256th case is a 27-year-old male ROF and resident of Barangay Macabalan. He arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), where she was swabbed, on August 13.

According to Retuya, the man stayed in a hotel in Quezon City while waiting for the result, which came out negative on August 15.

He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on August 15 via plane. He was swabbed on August 21 and the result came out positive on August 25.

The man is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 257th case is a 23-year-old male LSI from Sta. Rosa, Laguna and a resident of Barangay Carmen. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on August 19.

The man was swabbed on August 24 and the result came out positive on August 25. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 258th case is a 31-year-old female ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Patag. According to Retuya, her first swab test was in the Middle East on August 12. The result was negative.

The woman arrived at NAIA on August 16 where he was swabbed. She stayed in a hotel in Manila while waiting for the result of her swab test which came out negative on August 18.

She arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on August 19. She was swabbed on August 24 and the result came out positive on August 25.

The 31-year-old woman is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 259th case is a 23-year-old female LSI from Lahug, Cebu City and a resident of Barangay Kauswagan. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on August 19 and was swabbed on August 24. The result came out positive on August 25.

The woman is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 260th case is a 33-year-old male LSI from Mambaling, Cebu and a resident of Barangay Lapasan. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on August 18.

The man was swabbed on August 24 and the result came out positive on August 25. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

He is scheduled to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 261st case is a 39-year-old male from a gated community in Barangay Bulua. According to Retuya, the man complained of a mild cough on August 21 and on August 22, he sought consultation in a private hospital.

He was admitted in the said hospital on August 23 with fever, cough, body malaise and headache. He was swabbed on August 24 and the result came out positive on August 25. He has no known comorbidity.

The man was transferred to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) on August 25.

At present, he is set for discharge and for transfer to the city's Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility, NMMC medical specialist Dr. Bernard Rocha said.

The City Health Office has identified 11 direct family contacts of the man.

The 262nd case is a 22-year-old female local Apor residing in a relocation area in Barangay Indahag. Retuya said the patient was exposed to the 242nd Covid-19 case, the 36-year-old male local Apor, resident of Barangay Kauswagan.

The woman was brought to the city isolation unit on August 20 since she was one of the 242nd case's close contact.

She was swabbed on August 23 and the result came out positive on August 25. She is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility. Her close family contacts were also brought to the city isolation unit.

A portion of Phase 2 Habitat relocation site in Barangay Indahag is now placed under localized focused containment.

As of August 25, Cagayan de Oro has recorded 87 active cases, three of whom are admitted at the NMMC, 15 are outpatients and 69 are ROFs/LSIs.
