LAST Aug. 22, avid fans of DC Comics were spoiled with exclusive sneak peeks and surprises into its latest projects during DC FanDome.

During the first session (a second session is scheduled in September), a lot of ground was already covered—from video games to TV series—but the most exciting panels were of the films.

Here are the highlights from Day 1 of DC’s virtual convention:

Wonder Woman 1984

“Barbara, what did you do?” Patty Jenkins’ sequel to the 2017 blockbuster finally released its main trailer with the biggest reveal so far: In the last few seconds, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman is seen going head to head with Kristen Wiig’s Barbara Minerva, finally, fully transformed as The Cheetah. Prior to FanDome, the teaser trailers and photo releases for the film had intentionally kept The Cheetah’s feral form a well-kept secret. “Wonder Woman 1984” is set for release on Oct. 2.

Black Adam

At FanDome, viewers got to learn about the origins of the titular character through a video narrated by no other than Black Adam himself, Dwayne Johnson. A spin-off of “Shazam,” Black Adam sees the anti-hero freed after 5,000 years of being imprisoned—will he be a hero, a villain or both? Johnson also spilled a few details about his latest project: It will feature the Justice Society of America, which includes Hawkman and Cyclone. “Black Adam” is set for release on Dec. 22, 2021.

The Suicide Squad

No trailer yet, but we did get to see some behind-the-scenes footage from filming as well as an official cast reveal: James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad” stars some familiar faces from the 2016 Suicide Squad like Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, as well as new additions to the group such as Flula Borg as Javelin, Idris Elba as Bloodsport, and many, many more. “The Suicide Squad” is scheduled to be released on Aug. 6, 2021.

The Batman

Succeeding “Batfleck,” it’s Robert Pattinson’s turn to take up the mantle of the caped crusader in “The Batman.” Although the film is still currently in production, fans were treated to an exclusive teaser during the event and by the looks of it, Matt Reeves’ take on the classic DC property will have a more serious and gritty approach. It was also revealed that the film will find Bruce Wayne early on his journey—a “Year Two” Batman, Reeves described. “The Batman” is set for release on Oct. 1, 2021.

Snyder Cut

Last May, Zack Snyder made the big announcement that his version of “Justice League” will come out exclusively on the streaming platform HBO Max. Snyder directed the 2017 “Justice League,” but had to drop out of the film post-production after his daughter’s death. At DC FanDome, Snyder dropped the first trailer for his passion project which featured some new foes like DeSaad and Darkseid. Zack Snyder’s “Justice League” is set for release in four hour-long episodes sometime next year.
