(Foreword: This is the continuation of our response to Munchkin on his quest for natural remedies for hair growth.)

Dear Munchkin,

ALRIGHT, moving on...here are more ways to help you with your quest.

Attend a possible underactive thyroid gland or problem with hypothyroidism. This can cause your hair to thin out. So, add up some seaweeds in your diet, which are rich in iodine and may be helpful to balance your condition. Also avoid drinking tap water because it has fluorine and chlorine, which blocks iodine absorption. And see your physician to sort out a possible problem with your thyroid gland.

Get essential fatty acids. Get them from walnuts, flaxseeds, fish and avocado.

Increase biotin in your diet and B-complex. Biotin promotes hair and scalp health. Get them from nuts, brown rice and oats. A hundred milligram a day of a B-complex supplement that has biotin and vitamin B6 can lessen the hair thinning by increasing circulation in the scalp and reviving hair follicles.

Increase keratin production using Methylsulfonylmethane or MSM. A study has shown that a hundred percent of people who supplemented with MSM reduced their hair loss and had increased their hair growth in just six weeks.

Speed up collagen production using vitamin C. Collagen envelops the hair strands. However, as we age, our collagen breaks down. This causes our hair to be more susceptible to damage. The best way to improve collagen is through getting ourselves more vitamin C. So, to stuff up with foods that are rich in vitamin C like -- citrus fruits and guava. A 250 to 500 mg a day can help increase collagen production.

But, since we are running out of space this time, then, let me continue this in my next issue. Until then!
