Results of mass testing in 4 LGUs up for release within the week

THE results of individuals who underwent swab test in the Cities of Bago, Silay, Talisay, and the town of Murcia are targeted to be released within the week.

Philippine Councilors League (PCL)-Negros Occidental Chapter President and Board Member Ryan Gamboa, said that on Sunday, August 30, 2020, 315 residents of Silay City participated in the testing, along with 725 from Talisay City.

On Monday, an estimated 800 residents of Bago City participated in the mass testing, followed by Murcia with 600.

Gamboa said the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital Molecular Laboratory will be able to release the results in six to seven days, although they are currently tapping the Philippine Red Cross if they could also process the samples.

Gamboa said the mass testing, which was implemented as part of the four-day "timeout weekend," was still a big success even if they won't be able to hit the target mark of 10,000 individuals.

Gamboa added the province's quarantine facility still has enough room in accommodating those who will test positive.
