8 Covid-19 patients in Cagayan de Oro recover

EIGHT persons who had tested positive for coronavirus have recovered from the virus after their repeat swab test results came out negative on Monday, August 31.

This brought the total number of Covid-19 recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 204.

Of the eight new recoveries, four are locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and four are returning overseas Filipino workers (ROFs).

According to City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya, those who have recovered are:

* A 22-year-old male LSI from ParaƱaque City and a resident of Barangay Pagatpat;

* A 57-year-old male LSI from Antipolo, Manila and a resident of Barangay Cugman;

* A 57-year-old female LSI from Valenzuela City and a resident of Barangay 17;

* A 26-year-old male LSI from San Isidro, Talisay City, Cebu and a resident of Barangay Carmen;

* A 29-year-old male ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Bulua;

* A 39-year-old male ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Indahag;

* A 34-year-old male ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Bugo; and

* A 37-year-old ROF from Europe and a resident of Barangay Kauswagan.

Seven non-resident of Cagayan de Oro have also recovered from Covid-19, three of whom are from Misamis Oriental, one from Cavite, one Authorized Person Outside Residence (Apor) from Lanao del Sur, one Apor from Iligan and one Apor from Bohol.

Also tested negative are the five close family contacts of the 251st case, the 29-year-old female local Apor from a gated community in Upper Balulang; and the six close friend contacts of the 262nd case, the 22-year-old female local Apor resident of a relocation area in Barangay Indahag.

Meanwhile, the localized focused containment of three areas in Cagayan de Oro were lifted, namely: Sitio Macapaya and Purok 4, Sta. Cruz in Barangay Camaman-an, and Zone 7, Acacia Street in Barangay Carmen.

According to Acting City Health Office Dr. Lorraine Nery, of the 204 total recoveries recorded in Cagayan de Oro, 126 are LSIs, 49 are ROFs, and 29 are local cases (community: 23; Apor: 6).

As of August 31, Cagayan de Oro registered a total of 302 confirmed Covid-19 cases. Of the number, 228 are ROFs/LSIs and 74 are local cases.

The city has 87 active cases, six of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center, 29 are outpatients and 52 are ROFs/LSIs.
