Zamboanga City Covid-19 cases reach 1,201

THE local Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on coronavirus disease (Covid-19) said local health authorities recorded 39 new cases, bringing to 1,201 the total cases of Covid-19 in Zamboanga City.

The task force said that 17 additional new recoveries and one mortality were also recorded.

With these, the task force said the active cases now stand at 444, while the total number of recoveries is now at 707.

The local IATF said the number of deaths due to Covid-19 is 50.

Meanwhile, Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said that adhering to quarantine and health protocols will help control the spread of Covid-19 in the city.

"Always follow the guidelines not just for compliance but for you and your family's protection," Salazar said.

The mayor said the local police recorded 110 violations of quarantine guidelines during continuous operation conducted on Tuesday, September 1.

She said that traveling without quarantine pass remains on top of the list, with 53 apprehensions, followed by 28 apprehensions for non-wearing of face mask, 24 no physical distancing, two each for use of unauthorized of helmet and curfew violation and one non-wearing of face shield inside public utility vehicles.
