THE enhanced Iloilo City Compliance Monitoring Team (CMT) issued citation tickets to more than 200 violators caught for not wearing a face mask in public and non-observance of physical distancing.

The apprehensions were done from August 19 to 29.

The team, composed of compliance officers, is strictly enforcing Regulation Ordinance (RO) 2020-061, which mandates the wearing of face mask in public. Violators will be fined P500.

The team is also enforcing RO 2020-066, which implements physical distancing. It imposes a fine of P5,000 for public establishments that do not ensure physical distancing of one meter space between persons in their premises to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Apprehending personnel are from Iloilo City Sports Development Division, Iloilo City Anti-Smoking Task Force, Green Guards, Business Permit and Licensing Office, and Task Force on Moral and Values Formation. (PR)
