Sungduan: RCMB donates PPEs

AFTER starting the Rotary year this July by donating biological safety cabinet class II A2 to Bontoc General Hospital in Bontoc, Mountain Province, the Rotary Club of Metro Baguio (RCMB) returned in the same town for another anti-Covid relief effort.

This time, the group headed by President Jerry Chan donated at least 4,000 washable facemasks, 500 disposable face masks, bunny suit coverall, and infrared thermometer to Bontoc LGU.

Municipal Mayor Franklin Odsey gladly received the personal protective equipment (PPE) needed by the local government as they continue to fight against the coronavirus.

Chan said RCMB also plans to provide PPEs such as disposable masks, anti-virus goggles, contact infrared thermometer, coverall suits and safety goggles to frontliners in Baguio City and other areas in the Cordillera Region.

He emphasized that it is RCMB’s priority to help the community in need amid the pandemic situation.

Upholding the Rotary Year 2020-2021 theme “Rotary opens opportunities,” RCMB already has projects in line to address concerns under the areas of focus of RI, which are the basic education and literacy, maternal and child health, peace and conflict prevention/resolution, water and sanitation, and economic and community development.

Meanwhile, RCMB will celebrate its Charter Anniversary on September 16, coinciding with the induction of a new set of officers and the awarding of the 10 Outstanding Punong Barangays and Hall of Famer in Baguio City.
