ILOILO City Government Children’s Learning Center (ICGCLC) or Talatapan continues to conduct the Trash to Cash project to support its maintenance and operating expenses making it sustainable.

A fundraising activity of Talatapan’s Parents Association is producing "makeable" materials out of recyclables such as the arts and crafts made by the employees.

“This initiative is a big help to our center. We already bought sewing machine out of this project – which can help in making cloth face masks and pouches,” said Center Coordinator Shirley Conte.

“We want to help in nurturing environment out of trash and at the same time we are supporting the advocacy of the government on 3Rs - reuse, reduce and recycle. We need to be a good steward of God’s creation and preserve the beauty of our environment – from trash we find ways to make it into cash,” Conte stressed.

Those who want to check the eco-friendly products may visit the second floor of City Hall. (PR)
