2 ka quarry sites gipaundang ni Garganera

DUHA ka quarry sites sa Cebu City giingong nag-operate nga way permit.

Nipahimangno si Cebu City Councilor Joel Garganera, chairman sa committee on environment, sa operator nga mopadala siya og kapulisan sa mao nga mga dapit kon sila magpadayon sa ilang operasyon.

Ang duha ka quarry sites, nga gipadagan sa samang operator, nahimutang sa Barangay Pardo ug Agsungot.

Ang Pardo naa sa south district samtang ang Agsungot sa north district.

Matod ni Garganera nga ang usa nga naa sa Barangay Pardo giisyuhan na og cease and desist order sa barangay officials.

Apan bisan pa niini, padayon kining nag-operate.

Matod ni Garganera nga usa lang ka approved resolution ang gibutang sa operator sa dapit.

Apan, ang resolusyon alang sa Poblacion Pardo-Toong road project.

“Although naa’y reso approving the said project, there is the issue on its implementation. There is ongoing quarrying in the said area despite not having the necessary permits such as quarry permit, transportation permit, prior approval by the Barangay concerned, and an Environment Compliance Certificate,” matod ni Garganera.

Ang usa usab sa Agsungot wa nihunong bisan kon nakamugna na kini og landslide sa dapit.

Si Garganera nihatag sa Cebu City Environment and Natural Resources (Cenro) hangtod sa Septiyembre 10, 2020 sa pagluwat og cease and desist order sa quarry site sa Barangay Agsungot.

Si Garganera nipasabot nga ang landslide nga nakaapekto sa karsada sa Agsungot di lang kay tungod sa pagbunok sa uwan, apan tungod usab sa pagpangubkob sa pikas nga habig sa bungtod.

Matod niya nga tukmang lakang ipahamtang batok sa operator nga way permit ingon man pagpadayon sa operasyon bisan kon ang Cebu City ubos sa enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Matod ni Garganera nga kinahanglan sa operators sa pagpangayog special permit gikan sa Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) aron sila makapadayon sa operasyon.

Siya nipasabot nga ang IATF motugot lang kon ang quarry ug construction projects alang sa public health.

“While we, in the EOC (Emergency Operations Center), are busy looking for ways to flatten the curve, sus kining mga tawhana gi-flatten pud ang curve diris kabukiran,” matod ni Garganera. (JJL)
