Eastern Visayas logs 57 new Covid-19 cases, total at 3,688

CASES of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Eastern Visayas have reached 3,688 following the 57 new cases recorded on Friday evening, September 11, 2020.

The Eastern Visayas Regional Covid-19 Testing Center (EVRCTC) released a total of 568 laboratory results, of which 527 are negative and 41 are positive for Covid-19.

The 41 new cases are from Tacloban City (11); Ormoc City (1); Babatngon, Leyte (1); Jaro, Leyte (7); Calbayog City (1); Catbalogan City (11); Sta. Rita, Samar (1); Guiuan, Eastern Samar (2); Salcedo, Eastern Samar (1); Malitbog, Southern Leyte (3); San Juan, Southern Leyte (1); and Caibiran, Biliran (1).

Also, the Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory (DWHVL) released a total of 259 laboratory results.

Of these, 243 are negative and 16 are positive for Covid-19.

The 16 new cases are from Villaba, Leyte (7); Inopacan, Leyte (3); Tolosa, Leyte (1); Leyte, Leyte (1); Palo, Leyte (2); Javier, Leyte (1); and Abuyog, leyte (1).

The Department of Health (DOH) in the region said patients EV-3619 and EV-3620 will be untagged since they are not from Eastern Visayas but Caloocan and Bulacan.

As of Saturday evening, the region has 2,945 (79.83 percent) recoveries and 711 (19.27 percent) active cases. (SunStar Philippines)
