Businessman nabbed in anti-drug sting

A BUSINESSMAN tagged as a high-value target (HVT) drug personality was arrested in an anti-drug operation in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Monday, September 14.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Pensinsula information officer, identified the suspect as Earl Wilson Omandam, 31, who was nabbed in a buy-bust operation around 9:30 a.m. Monday in Purok 10, Imelda village, Labason, Zamboanga del Norte.

Duco said Omandam is number three in the list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Zamboanga del Norte.

Duco said the arresting team recovered from the suspect some P34,400 worth of shabu, P500 marked money and other personal belongings.

He said the businessman was detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him. (SunStar Zamboanga)
