FOR many years, I had been oblivious to the many harsh realities of life. There was an undeniable gap to the many struggles of many industrious people even if one could audaciously claim relatability without genuine empathy.
One thing I have come to realize is the importance of setting values and ethics in molding the maturity of our children. It would be a great shame to see individuals grow up to become undeveloped and incompetent adult infants.
It is appalling to condone and encourage a sense of entitlement particularly when we spoil the future generation as we continuously hand them cupcakes, and project a life filled with beds of roses. A goal towards independence and true accountability is ideal to eradicate the inevitable sufferings.
Enduring hardships is an absolute necessity towards further character development, maturity and progress. We cannot go on a path of self-indulgence with a meager set of values and habits that do not do us any favors and fail to contribute to the betterment of our world.
Getting by in this life is difficult, producing consistent income is particularly challenging and finding stability in all aspects is a common need we strive for.
There are no guarantees in this life. We could be on top one day only to see everything flip upside down at a blink of an eye. Many tests have yet to come our way and it would all be dependent on our actions and choices to overcome.
As a race, we find ourselves connected in society through unforeseen circumstances. There is a dire need for solidarity in working hand in hand to generate a collective impact. However, it still boils down to the individual.
The world does not owe us anything. It does not come easy to anyone. Instead, we pick ourselves up with shoulders back to face all the trials and tribulations to set our marks for an everlasting impact and a meaningful existence.
