Cagayan de Oro Covid-19 cases now at 476

SIXTEEN residents, four locally stranded individuals (LSIs), and three returning overseas Filipino workers (ROFs) tested positive for Sars-CoV-2 over the weekend, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro to 476.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said five of the 16 new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases.

City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said all new Covid-19 cases involving LSIs and ROFs were immediately brought to the city isolation unit upon arrival in the city.

The 454th case is a 67-year-old male LSI from Laguna and a resident of Barangay Pagatpat. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on September 3.

The man was swabbed on September 8 and the result came out positive on September 12. He has hypertension and diabetes mellitus. He is currently staying at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 455th case is a 17-year-old female LSI from Laguna and a resident of

Barangay Pagatpat. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on September 3.

The woman was swabbed on September 8 and the result came out positive on September 12. She is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 456th case is a 43-year-old male person deprived of liberty. He is currently in the isolation unit in the city jail in Barangay Lumbia.

According to Retuya, the man was detained at the police station 2 on April 30. He was swabbed on September 8 and the result came out positive on September 12.

The City Health Office identified 15 close contacts of the inmate.

The 457th case is a 69-year-old businessman residing in Barangay Nazareth. He developed a dry cough on September 4 and had a fever on September 5. He had a cough on September 6 and had loose bowel movement on September 7.

The man experienced loss of appetite on September 9 and he was admitted in a private hospital. He was swabbed on September 11 and the result came out positive on September 12.

His comorbidities include hypertension, diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. The City Health Office identified three household contacts.

The 458th case is a 39-year-old male resident of Barangay Puntod working as a family driver. He had sinusitis on August 29 and had a fever on September 30. He went to a private clinic for a check-up. He got better on September 6.

The man experienced loss of sense of smell and went to a barangay health center for a checkup. He was swabbed on September 8 and the result came out positive on September 12.

He is currently in isolation in a private accommodation facility. He has no known comorbidity and is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified five direct household contacts of the man.

The 459th case is a 30-year-old female local Authorized Person Outside Residence (Apor) residing in Barangay Puntod. He is a healthcare worker who was exposed to the 385th and 452nd cases.

The 385th case is a 31-year-old local Apor, healthcare worker in Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), and the 452nd case is a 34-year-old female local Apor, healthcare worker.

According to Retuya, the 30-year-old woman was exposed to the 385th case on September 3 and to the 452nd case on September 8.

She was swabbed on September 11 and the result came out positive. She is currently staying in the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified five household contacts of the woman.

The 460th case is a 65-year-old male resident of Barangay Cugman. He experienced shortness of breath for two weeks and was brought to a private hospital on September 9. He was transferred to the NMMC where he was swabbed and tested positive.

Retuya said the man died on Monday, September 14.

The 461st case is a 42-year-old female local Apor residing in a gated community in Upper Balulang. She is a healthcare worker who was exposed to the 424th case, the 66-year-old male resident of a gated community in Barangay Gusa.

Retuya said the woman's last day of exposure to the 424th case on September 8. He experienced dryness of throat and occasional shortness of breath on September 10. She was admitted in a private hospital.

She was swabbed and the result came out positive on September 12. She is currently staying at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility. The City Health Office identified seven direct household contacts.

The 462nd case is a 57-year-old male resident of Barangay Lumbia who was exposed to the 311th case, the 56-year-old male vendor from Barangay Lumbia. He had a fever and cough on September 1, and he was brought to a private hospital on September 10.

The man was swabbed and the result came out positive on September 12. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility. The City Health Office identified six direct contacts.

The 463rd case is a 44-year-old female housewife residing in Barangay Carmen. She went to a private hospital for consultation on September 11 after she experienced fever and cough.

The woman was referred to the NMMC where she was swabbed and the result came out positive on September 12. Her comorbidities include hypertension and diabetes mellitus. The City Health Office identified five direct contacts.

The 464th case is a 30-year-old male ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Gusa. He arrived in Manila on September 1 where he was swabbed. He stayed in a hotel in Manila while waiting for the result.

The man arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on September 3. He was swabbed on September 9 and the result came out positive on September 13. He is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity.

The 465th case is a 30-year-old female ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Tagpangi. She arrived in Manila on August 31 where she was swabbed. She stayed in a hotel in Makati while waiting for the result.

The woman arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on September 4. She was swabbed on September 9 and the result came out positive on September 13.

She is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 466th case is a 10-month-old male ROF from the Middle East and a resident of Barangay Carmen. He arrived in Manila on September 1 where he was swabbed. He stayed in a hotel in Makati while waiting for the result.

The baby arrived in Cagayan de Oro with his parents via plane on September 4. He was swabbed on September 9 and the result came out positive on September 13. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 467th case is a 50-year-old female LSI from Quezon City and a resident of Barangay Balulang. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on September 5.

The woman was swabbed on September 9 and the result came out positive on September 13. She is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 468th case is a 27-year-old female LSI from Cebu and a resident of Barangay Nazareth. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel and was swabbed on September 9. The result came out positive on September 13.

The woman is asymptomatic and has no known comorbidity. She is the close contact of the 268th case, the 30-year-old male LSI from Kamagayan, Cebu and a resident of Barangay Nazareth.

The 469th case is a 25-year-old male local Apor residing in a gated community in Upper Carmen. The man is a healthcare worker in a private hospital. He complained of loss of sense of taste and had watery stool on September 10. He experienced loss of sense of smell on September 11.

The man was swabbed on September 11 in the private hospital and the result came out positive on September 13. He has no known comorbidity.

The 470th case is a 22-year-old female resident of Zone 2 Barangay Carmen. She was admitted in a private hospital due to epigastric pain.

The woman was swabbed on September 11 and the result came out positive on September 13. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 471st case is an 87-year-old businessman residing in Barangay Carmen. He experienced cough and colds on September 7. He was brought to a private hospital on September 11 due to shortness of breathing.

The man was swabbed on September 11 and the result came out positive on September 13. He has hypertension and is set to be transferred to the NMMC. The City Health Office identified one direct household contact.

The 472nd case is a 50-year-old female resident of Barangay Carmen. She had a cough on September 8 and experienced shortness of breathing on September 10. She was admitted at the NMMC on September 12 where she was swabbed and the result came out positive.

The City Health Office identified four direct contacts of the woman.

The 473rd case is a 71-year-old businessman resident of Barangay Nazareth. He was exposed to his brother, the 457th case. He showed symptoms on September 5 and on September 13, he was brought to the NMMC due to shortness of breathing.

The man was swabbed at the NMMC on September 13 and the result came out positive in the late evening of the same day. His comorbidities include hypertension and diabetes mellitus.

The City Health Office identified nine direct workplace contacts.

The 474th case is a 31-year-old male local Apor residing in a gated community in Barangay Balulang. He is a government employee who had a travel history to Cotabato and Marawi.

According to Retuya, the man traveled to Cotabato from September 1 to 3 and went back to Cagayan de Oro on September 4. He traveled to Marawi on September 6 and went back to Cagayan de Oro on September 8.

Upon returning in the city, the 31-year-old man experienced loss of sense of smell and taste. He was isolated in his home. He was swabbed on September 11 and the result came out positive on September 13.

The City Health Office identified 15 household contacts of the man.

The 475th case is a 38-year-old female resident of a gated community in Barangay Iponan. She is an employee of a private food company. She experienced a sore throat on September 7 and was admitted in a private hospital on September 10.

The woman was swabbed on September 11 and the result came out positive on September 13. The City Health Office identified four direct contacts and is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 476th case is a 37-year-old female resident of Barangay Canitoan who is a self-employed online seller. She had a fever and cough on September 2 and was admitted in a private hospital on September 10.

The woman was swabbed on September 11 and the result came out positive on September 13.

Cagayan de Oro has 182 active cases, 15 of whom are admitted at the NMMC, 105 outpatients, and 62 ROFs/LSIs.
