3 nabbed in anti-drug operations

THREE people, including a high-value individual (HVI), were arrested, while P376,800 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City and Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Thursday, September 17.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Mark Kenneth Saning Julkanain, 32, an HVI; Marshal Bouchard Julkanain, 27; and Jayson Lumotos Partosa, 27.

Duco said the Julkanains were arrested in a drug bust around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, along Governor Camins Avenue in Santa Maria village, Zamboanga City.

Recovered from them were P346,800 worth of shabu weighing more or less 51 grams, a motorcycle, and P500 marked money.

Partosa, meanwhile, was caught in possession of P30,000 worth of shabu when arrested in a drug bust around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Purok 1, Calilic village, Sibutad, Zamboanga del Norte.

Recovered from Partosa were a motorcycle and P300 marked money.

Duco said formal charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against the suspects. (SunStar Zamboanga)
