Masantol folks get fishing gears

MASANTOL -- Fisherfolks from this municipality on Thursday, September 17, 2020, received various fishing gear to aid in their livelihood.

Fourth District Representative Juan Pablo "Rimpy" Bondoc led the distribution of two units of marine engine and five fishing gillnets to fishing groups here.

Bondoc said the distribution of gears is aimed at boosting the livelihood of fishermen, as well as further stimulate the fishing industry in this town.

"Fishing is one of the leading industries in this town and many residents consider it as a major source of income, that is why we continue to look for ways to boost the industry," he said.

Mayor Danilo Guintu, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to Bondoc for continuously assisting MasantoleƱos.

He said the gears will aid the livelihood of fishermen, especially in this time of pandemic when everyone needs assistance.

"On behalf of our recipients, we thank Cong. Rimpy for his unending support to MasantoleƱos through various means," he said.
