San Luis LGU sets schedule for cemetery visits for 'Undas'

RESIDENTS of San Luis town, Pampanga and nearby barangays can still pay respects to their departed loved ones ahead of the one-week closure of all cemeteries, memorial parks and columbariums across the country.

The local government has set a one-day schedule for every barangay to visit cemeteries and memorial parks starting October 24 to 27.

The closure order issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force will start from October 29 to November 4 and is aimed at preventing the swarming of people in memorial places amid the threat of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Mayor Jayson Sagum said residents will be allowed to physically visit departed loved ones in different cemeteries from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On October 24, Barangays San Nicolas, San Juan, Sto. Niño and Pambilog in San Luis and Barangay Mandasig in Candaba will be allowed entry in cemeteries.

Barangays San Sebastian, San Agustin, San Isidro in San Luis, San Nicolas in San Simon town, and Barit and Talang in Candaba are scheduled the following day.

On the third day, cemeteries will only be open to residents of barangays Sto. Tomas, San Roque, Sta. Rita in San Luis and San Pedro in San Simon town; and barangays Sta. Monica, Sta. Catalina, Sto. Rosario, and Sta. Ana are scheduled on the fourth day.

Last day of visits to cemeteries will be for residents of Barangay Poblacion, San Carlos and Sta. Lucia in San Luis, and Sta. Maria in Mexico town.

Sagum said residents must present identification cards with their address before entering the memorial parks.

Minimum health standards such as wearing face masks and social distancing will also be required while inside and within the cemetery premises, he added.
