Central Luzon Covid deaths now at 226; cases breach 10,000-mark

CORONAVIRUS-RELATED deaths in Central Luzon have now reached 226 as the total number of confirmed infection in all seven provinces of the region has reached 10,059 cases, according to a September 19 bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH).

Most of the cases are in Bulacan with 4,614 cases and 105 confirmed deaths. Pampanga is still second in terms of number of cases with 1,931 cases and 44 reported deaths. Bataan is not far behind with 1,833 infections and 23 deaths.

Cases also continue to rise in other provinces. Zambales reported 695 confirmed cases and 16 deaths. Nueva Ecija registered 545 confirmed cases and 22 deaths while Tarlac has 355 confirmed cases and 16 deaths.

Of the 10,059 reported cases, some 1,413 are still admitted to various hospitals and quarantine facilities. Some 4,141 have been reportedly discharged to complete the 14-day quarantine period.

The DOH claims 4,274 have recovered from the virus in the whole of Central Luzon.
