SIXTY-THREE years ago, a beautiful soul was born into this world. As the youngest child of a couple who both worked as meat vendors, she was indeed the apple of their eyes. She may have experienced a bit of luxury, but it was definitely not overflowing as their family also suffered financial hardships.
At the age of 17, her mother died due to colon cancer, two years before she graduated from college. As the youngest in the family, she was supported by her older siblings who assumed the family business of selling meat in the old market of San Fernando.
With her natural intelligence (Universal Genius level), she is truly one remarkable, strong-willed woman. Albeit being parentless when she married her husband of 34 years, she endured all the heartaches and pains that come with the married life. As a wife and a mother to five children, many can say that she has done such a wonderful job. As they say, the outcome of a family truly rests on how the mother steers the family, while submitting to the authority of the father as the head of the household. She is perfectly an epitome of a responsible and caring mother and wife.
She loves it when people notice how young she looks, and how she loves to also share the things she has accomplished for the day. She may be a nagger at times, but being quiet is so unlikely of her. The house is quiet when she's not around and it is truly a happy one now because of her. She loves cooking for her family and making sure that they are safe and secure. She is domineering, but at most times, she's right in all her advice and decisions.
She's my mom and I can't imagine my life without her, and so do my four siblings can also say. Near or far, her guidance, support, provision to us her children is truly what makes us lucky in this world.
Happy 62nd birthday Mama Joyce! You certainly do not pass as a senior citizen just yet as you look younger than your age. We love you so much and without you, I and my siblings will not be where we are today.
