NO ONE has come out yet to identify the killers of Mactan Barangay Councilor Zandro Augusto despite the P1 million bounty.

On Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan offered a P1 million reward to whoever can identify the killers of Augusto, who was shot outside his pawnshop on Lopez Jaena St. in Brgy. Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City on Saturday night, Sept. 19, 2020.

According to Director Col. Clarito Baja, the chief of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO), on Monday, Sept. 21, they checked the numbers provided by Chan where the witnesses could text or call in their information. However, no one has reached out yet.

For Baja, what Chan did was a great help in the investigation, especially in obtaining information regarding the incident.

He added that they have received information and received certain leads that will help them in their investigation but they still need to validate them.

Thus, the investigation is still ongoing.

He also instructed the intelligence team to assist the station commander of Lapu-Lapu Police Station 3 in conducting the investigation.

Investigators also coordinated with establishments with closed circuit television cameras near the place where Augusto was killed.

Baja told Superbalita Cebu during a phone interview that their investigators have not yet interviewed the family because they are still in a state of shock.

On Sunday night, Sept. 20, Baja said Augusto’s family had not yet recovered his body as it was still in the hospital.

According to Baja, in compliance with health protocol, the body is not to be released unless the result of Augusto’s swab test is released. (KFD)
