72-year-old man contracts coronavirus

A 72-YEAR-OLD woman who has no travel history or exposure to a coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patient has contracted the novel coronavirus.

The patient, who is the 48th case in the town, is from Barangay Navaling, Magalang.

Patient M48 was admitted to the hospital due to cough, shortness of breath and other flu-like symptoms.

She also has underlying medical conditions like diabetes and hypertension.

The patient, who is among the three new cases in the town, had five direct household contact who are now under home quarantine and monitoring.

The town's 46th patient is a 36-year-old woman from Barangay Santo Nino who works outside the municipality. She was exposed to a co worker who tested positive for coronavirus.

Patient M46, who had three close contacts, was taken to the Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital.

The 47th patient is a 21-year-old resident of Santa Lucia Resettlement Phase 2 who also works outside the town. She also had three direct contacts and transferred to the Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital.

The close contacts of patients M46 and 47 were placed under home quarantine.

The local government at the same announced three new recoveries among those who were infected by the virus including patients M30, M32, and M37.
