Pampanga Covid-19 cases breach 2,000 mark

THE Province of Pampanga now has a total of 2,011 confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, according to the September 21 bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH) in Central Luzon.

The DOH said 529 patients are still admitted in various government hospitals, while 1,034 have been discharged to complete the needed 14-day community quarantine.

It said 404 of the confirmed cases have already recovered, while 44 people have succumbed to the disease since the start of the pandemic.

Most of the recorded cases are in Pampanga's major cities and towns with densely packed populations.

The City of San Fernando also has considerable number of reported cases at 393 confirmed, as of September 21. Of these cases, only 74 are active.

The City said 305 patients have already recovered, while 14 people have died.

In Angeles City alone, its City Information Office reported a total of 555 confirmed cases. About 200 of these are all active cases.

While Angeles City recorded 330 recoveries, it is among the local government units with the most number of deaths at 25 reported cases.

Guagua town has the most number of confirmed cases among towns in Pampanga, with 160 confirmed cases as of Tuesday, September 22.

Lubao town recorded 91 confirmed cases but only 29 of these remain active.

Seventy-five confirmed cases were also recorded in Sasmuan town as of September 21, with 51 recoveries and 18 deaths.

Despite of this, the Pampanga Information Office reported lower numbers. In its September 21 report, the confirmed cases are only pegged at 1,533.
