26 curfew violators arrested

A TOTAL of 26 persons were arrested by Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) for violating curfew hours on Sunday, September 20.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Tuesday, September 22, that the 26 persons were arrested by personnel of Police Stations 2, 3, 5, 8 and 10 for violating curfew hours from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

He said the violators were given a citation ticket and those who are Bacolod residents were fined P500, while non-residents were fined P800.

Those who failed to pay penalties were endorsed to the barangay for a community service.

Meanwhile, four persons were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 9 for illegal cockfighting in Purok Busay, Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City on Monday.

Police identified the suspects as Rolando Macopol, Joni Delfin, Benjamin Palermo, and Elpidio Capasilan, all of Bacolod City.

Pico said the suspects were caught in the act of initiating illegal cockfighting.

Police recovered from the suspects possession two fighting cocks and P1,740 cash.

The suspects were detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 9 for violation of Presidential Decree 449 of the Cockfighting Law.
