Bacolod records 61 Covid-19 deaths

BACOLOD City has recorded 61 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) deaths out of its 3,360 cases, the City Health Office (CHO) reported Wednesday, September 23, 2020.

CHO records showed as of Tuesday, Bacolod City has 36 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 3,360, with 128 new recoveries and 10 deaths.

As of Tuesday, Bacolod City has a total of 3,360 Covid-19 cases. Of the number, 2,125 are recoveries, 1,174 are active cases and 61 are deaths.

Emergency Operations Center (CEO) records showed that Bacolod City has a 928-bed capacity in various public schools quarantine centers. Of the number, 389 beds were already utilized by Covid-19 patients and 539 are available.

Councilor Renecito Novero, chairman of the city's quarantine center action team, earlier said Bacolod City has enough quarantine facilities to accommodate Covid-19 positive patients in the city

He said at present, Bacolod City has a total of 11 existing schools used as quarantine centers and it can accommodate more than 900 Covid-19 patients.

Novero added they are also waiting to use the additional 12 public schools as quarantine centers that can provide more than 1,000 beds.

In the city's seven hospitals, it recorded a total of 201 functional beds for Covid-19 patients. Of the number, 154 beds were already utilized by Covid-19 patients and only 47 beds left to accommodate Covid-19 patients in the city.
